Suffering with acne skin care may at first seem awful for most of us that take pride in the way we look. But in today’s world this is a skin condition that can be treated. This complaint that affects many people around the world has engendered fiercely competitive scientific research to find a cure; as a consequence, many of these new treatments are very affective. The acne skin care products available fall into these:
1.Those that help prevent the condition
2. Over-the-counter
3. Prescription: Doctor and/or Dermatologist, prescribes an ointment or specialist cream
The class of skin care products designed to fight acne and also used as a preventative measure include make-up removers, cleansers and other like-minded products. These products are used everyday by a lot of people whether they suffer from acne or not.
More specialized cleaners are designed in the same way as acne skin care products; they clean out the pores to help stop sebum or oil which clogs up the pores. Products like this work by minimizing the amount of oil that stays in the pores which can assist harmful bacteria growth which can lead to acne skin issues.
General skin care treatments also include special exfoliation products like skin peels. These are effective because they remove dead skin cells and all surface pollution which can cause the pores to get blocked.

You can also find acne skin care products that are specialized and available over-the-counter, they do not require the need of a prescription. Skin care products have been formulated to minimize or reduce the excess oil in the skin that certain bacteria live on and results in acne skin conditions. The active ingredient in these products are salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide which treat the existing bacterium.
Generally it is best to start using this type of product with only a small amount of benzoyl peroxide; in fact no more than 5.5 percent is recommended just to see how the skin reacts. The working alternatives to this involve using products that have the substance alpha hydroxy acid in them. It is not always possible to find an acne skin care product that works first time. You may need to try a few but if none of them seem to be working then you would be advised to contact your skin specialist.
One of the benefits of consulting your dermatologist or doctor is that they can prescribe you with a prescription for specialized treatments, for example a course of antibiotics. In some case your doctor may suggest the pustules are drained of harmful contents under local anesthetic, this is a minor procedure which if carried out by yourself could result in skin damage.
Wrapping It Up
Hormone therapy is an alternative that has been shown to be effective. In many cases studies would indicate that hormone based skin care treatments are effective since in some cases hormones can cause acne. Dealing and solving this skin complaint is not the issue it used to be, there are now a large selection of acne products specifically formulated to deal with this. This means that an acne sufferer does not have to put up with this condition unless they choose to.
Acne in Adults

Today around 25% of all men and 50% of all women will suffer from some form of adult acne in their adult life. In fact people who are now in the 20′s, 30′s and 40′s are seeking medical advice to treat this skin condition as well as teenagers. Just like teenagers, these adults are also finding it extremely difficult to cope with the problem of acne.
What is hard to believe that this skin condition is now as common in adults as it is in teenagers, and many people still do not know what the real causes for this condition to occur are. One reason why it seems adults may suffer from this form of acne like teenagers is because their have been changes in the hormonal balance in their bodies. But what is important is that an adult should go and see their doctor as soon as they feel that they may be suffering from this skin condition.
Along with hormonal changes in a person’s body possibly being the reason why as an adult they have got acne, but there are other reasons for which this has been caused. Below we take a look at a just what some of these are.
1One of the other main reasons why an adult has begun to suffer from adult acne is that their diet is extremely poor. They are found to be eating all the wrong kinds of foods and their diet contains too much fat, carbohydrates and sugar in it. This then results in their body actually not getting sufficient amounts of nutrients to help it to function correctly. In many cases their digestive system begins to function poorly and the hormones inside them become unbalanced.
Along with eating too, many of the above mentioned those people who eat far too many processed foods would find that they are more at risk of developing adult acne at some stage of their adult lives. Therefore, if you really want to ensure that your body remains fit and healthy and reduce the risk of suffering from this skin condition you need to have a diet in place that contains lots of fresh produce in it. Also drinking plenty of water (around 8 glasses each day) will help by removing unwanted toxins from the body also.

2Another reason why some adults suffer from this skin condition is because they have inherited the gene from one of their parents. The problem that some adults will face who have inherited the condition is that theirs can become extremely severe and lead to scarring.
3One other reason as to why you may be suffering from this skin problem is because of the makeup and skin care products that you use and which are synthetically made. The chemicals in these can often cause imbalances in the acid and alkaline in your skin and cause spots to erupt. If you really want to stop the condition becoming any worse or prevent the condition altogether use products that contain only natural ingredients.
In the article we have shown you a few of the reasons as to what may be the cause for your adult acne problem. But just like teenagers you can use the same kinds of products that they do in order to treat the condition. Also along with using these it is advisable to make some changes to your dietary habits and to use only skin products, which contain natural ingredients.
Acne In Adults : Don’t Be Embarrassed

Acne is for teenagers, right? Wrong! A common misconception is that acne only affects teenagers. The truth is that many adults struggle with acne even though they didn’t have acne as a teenager or may have had only a very mild case. This is typically known as Adult Onset Acne. For many other adults, their teenage acne has unfortunately followed them into their adulthood.
Although adults are usually better equipped to handle the physical, psychological and social effects of acne, it can be just as devastating to those afflicted. And current numbers are indicating that adult acne is increasing with no known attributing reason.
Regardless of the age of first acne outbreak, the physical and psychological impact can be long-lasting and cause problems with you appearance. According to Dermatologists, adult acne is more likely to leave scars because of the age of the skin in adults. Much of that is attributed to the lose of collagen which helps the skin bounce back and not leave scars. The physical scars aren’t the only scars left by adult acne.
Psychological scarring can be much harder to deal with and is often a result of the sufferers own inaction. While adults have better coping mechanisms to deal with acne, they are often less likely to seek treatment due to the embarrassment of having something that is supposed to affect teenagers not adults. While this isn’t true, it is still a very common misconception among adults. This can result in a cyclical pattern of inaction followed by continued scarring and more embarrassment leading to continued inaction.
The good news is that as time goes on and more and more adults are recognizing that acne is not just for teenagers and does require treatment to eliminate it.
Over-the-counter acne treatments and prescription medication sales have increased during that time frame also. Although inconclusive, it does suggest that adults with acne are seeking relief more often than before. It could also indicate that the number of cases is also on the rise as is expected.

Doctors and dermatologists are working on understanding the special causes and unique effects that adult acne has on older patients. With continued public awareness and a population becoming more likely to seek treatment, having a more thorough understanding of the affects of adult acne and proposed treatments will be demanded.
Today, more and more information about adult acne is being captured which will only further help identify the causes and help treat those afflicted with adult onset acne. A new emphasis is being placed on the psychological effects of adult acne because of the social emphasis that is being placed on having clear skin. Of course, understanding the physical causes of acne is foremost because if you can cure the acne outbreaks then the social and psychological issues will usually take care of themselves.

Over 13 million North Americans suffer from rosacea. It is most commonly seen in those people who have fair skin and is sometimes referred to as the “Curse of the Celts” or a “Peaches and Cream” complexion.
It usually occurs between 20-40 years of age.
Rosacea is a long lasting, non-scarring skin condition of the face that is often misdiagnosed as adult acne. It varies in severity and does not always worsen with time. Typically, you will experience inappropriate flushing that is not usually associated with sweating and/or persistent facial redness. It is common to have broken blood vessels (telangiectasias) on your cheeks. You may also experience bouts of inflammation that cause red papules (small bumps) or pustules. However, blackheads and whiteheads are not part of rosacea.
About 50% of those with rosacea suffer eye involvement, including such conditions as conjunctivitis, blepharitis, dry gritty eyes, and recurrent sties. Nose enlargement, rhinophyma, is uncommon in women and is mostly seen in men.
