For people who suffer from acne scars, we tend to daydream or envision that day when we will have smooth skin. While others save for holidays, acne sufferers save for that day when they can be rid of acne scars from a dermatologist. People with acne tend to have a bit of distortion in how others perceive them, because they themselves see their face first thing each morning and can never forget this unsightly version of themselves.

Discovering the right procedure for our skin, one that we can afford, is paramount for those with acne scars. Figuring out the best option is necessary. Finding out that there are financing and payment plans available make the idea of smooth skin a possibility and reality.

Laser surgery: This is expensive but good. The scar tissue is removed by a skin surgeon, resulting in smoother, clear skin. The development of future skin scars from acne is low. Depending on your pain threshold, the level is from low to medium for most patients, though males tend to have a lower pain tolerance than females overall.

Fractional resurfacing is a laser treatment that results in about 60 percent improvement of acne scars after two or three treatments. There are minimal side effects with this type and is safe to use on other areas of your skin including neck, chest, hands. It is recommended that the treatments be repeated over intervals of three to five weeks, and to also repeat the procedure from 3 to 5 times. Every four weeks for four treatments total seems to be the norm.

Laser fractional resurfacing provides ultimately that smooth skin you have been longing for. If you want wrinkles addressed, you can have those smoothed out as well, or brown spots can be removed.

There are differences between fractural lasering and non-ablative laser treatments, and those variations you can discuss thoroughly with your dermatologist. Ultimatly the deciding factor may be the price for you. Fractural lasering can cost from 1500.00 per treatment to 2500.00 per treatment. They can also discuss with you non-ablative laser which costs from about 300.00 to 1300.00 per treatment.

Is it worth it? Well, make an appointment, look at before and after photos, discuss the pros and cons and decide for yourself. I believe you will do whatever you can to be rid of acne scars after you have had your first discussion with a dermatologist.

One last thing, for those of you who use Accutane, talk to your dermatologist ahead of time about that, as s/he will likely not use laser surgery for at least six months after you have stopped using it.

If you are looking for different acne treatment options you won’t be disappointed as there are quite a few to choose from. You can choose between different medication as well as topical treatments, or you may want to use natural as well as organic products for your acne problem. You must however check whether these are the best options, or if there is something better on the market as well.

There is certainly no single acne treatment method that will fit all cases of acne since everybody has different skin types, and thus you may come across laser surgery of acne scar as an all-in-one acne scar treatment option. There are many different laser treatments available and you can find many sources for them as well.

Simple In Its Operations

Laser surgery of acne scar is quite simple in its operations. The normal method applied is to send a very powerful as well as high-speed and also immensely accurate beam of light (laser) under the control of a laser technician. This beam of light destroys the specific glands that are producing unnecessary amounts of oil that form under the skin and thus also destroy any bacteria that are present in these areas. In addition, laser resurfacing helps in burning away the scar.

However, simple as it appears, there is a little more to laser surgery of acne scar than this. You should also be aware of the many drawbacks of using laser surgery of acne scar of which the need for more than a single treatment may be most appreciable. In addition, this form of treatment requires that the surgeon notes down your age as well as state of health, and also the type as well as extent of the scars. Laser surgery of acne scar thus can also be an expensive method with costs directly affected by the experience of the person performing the surgery as well as the type of laser facilities.

Thus, laser surgery of acne scar comes with its complement of drawbacks, especially the cost in terms of monetary outlay as well as understanding what effect it has on the thinking of the affected person after the procedure has been completed. So, you may consider laser surgery of acne scar as being somewhat of a priceless option.

In any case, laser surgery of acne scar will help to burn away the part of the skin that has been damaged by acne. In fact, laser surgery of acne scar is used when one wants minimal remaining scars.

An Overview of Acne Laser Treatment

If you’re one of the millions who suffer from acne problems, no one needs to tell you how stressful and embarrassing it can be. You’ve probably tried almost every lotion, cream and medication on the market. If you’ve had limited success with these products, or have been left with unattractive scars from your acne, there is another alternative you can consider.

Acne laser treatment has been gaining popularity over the last few years as an effective treatment option. This is a fairly new procedure that has shown some promising results for those who have had no luck with other types of treatment. Maybe it’s time for you to take a look at acne laser treatment.

What Is It?

Acne laser treatment is a process that is used to clear up existing acne, as well as the scars left behind by previous acne. There are a few variations of this type of treatment, and the kind you receive will depend upon the type of blemishes and scarring you have. Your dermatologist can advise you as to the best treatment options for you.

Acne laser treatments usually fall into one of three categories. They are carbon dioxide lasers, non-ablative lasers, and erbium lasers. The carbon dioxide type is probably the most popular and effective type of laser treatment. Basically, this involves peeling away the infected and blemished skin by using short pulses of light. Non-ablative and erbium lasers work a bit differently. They do their work below the surface of the skin, removing blemishes and healing scars from the inside out.

Advantages

The actual procedure itself is relatively quick and painless. It is an outpatient surgery that usually only takes a few minutes. There is usually no recovery time needed. In fact, many people will schedule treatments during their lunch breaks. The most important advantage of acne laser treatment is that the end result will be skin that is virtually free from blemishes and scars.

Disadvantages

There are also several downsides to this type of treatment. Although a single treatment takes only a few minutes, in many cases you need to continue to receive treatments for up to several months. Even after your treatments are complete, it may take several months to notice the results once your skin is completely healed. The cost of acne laser treatment is another factor that eliminates it as an option for many people. One session can cost up to a few hundred dollars, and most health insurance policies will not cover it. You can imagine how that can add up over six month’s time.

If you have acne scars or blemishes that you just can’t get rid of no matter what you do, you may want to sit down with your dermatologist and discuss the pros and cons of acne laser treatment.
