You don’t need to spend all of your money on dermatologist visits to get natural ways to cure acne. Alternative acne cures can be more effective in many cases than the expensive solutions offered by a doctor. To get optimal results, you might need to combine a few of these natural ways to cure acne.

Acne is not just a skin ailment but also a systemic problem and appears for a variety of reasons. The end-result is an abundance of androgen and too much sebum. Some situations require a doctor’s consultation. Women that develop facial hair and cease menstruation or someone with acne accompanied by a fever may have other problems that cause the acne.

Stress encourages the production of sebum, the sebum gathers at the base of the hair follicle and along with flakes of skin forms a whitehead or blackhead and feeds bacteria as it builds. Attempt to keep your stress at a minimum and practice quiet meditation, exercise to burn stress or relaxation techniques. Many studies indicate that change in diet affects acne the frequency and severity of breakouts. Balanced meals, high in fruit and vegetables and low in sugar and plenty of water build the immune system and encourage rapid healing.

When you first discover the breakout, don’t panic and scrub it furiously. Scrubbing, particularly with abrasive material actually encourages more pimples and blackheads. Wash your face twice a day with warm water. Rinse first with warm water and follow it with a splash of cool water. Pat your skin dry. Again, the key is to avoid scrubbing motions.

After you have washed your face, why not try an astringent? There is probably one right there in your kitchen! The Alpha-Hydroxy acid in lemons acts as an exfoliant, removing dead skin which can clog pores. Lemon juice also has antiseptic properties to prevent the infection by bacteria which contributes to outbreaks. The juice of half a lemon should be plenty, applied with a cotton ball. You might need to dilute this juice with distilled water if you have sensitive skin. After the lemon juice has dried, rinse your face with cool water.

Another of the alternative cures for acne which is often overlooked is the old mosquito bit standby, calamine lotion. Calamine lotion is an astringent and drying agent (thank to the zinc oxide it contains) and also soothes irritated skin to reduce swelling and redness. You can put calamine lotion on before bed (don’t forget to wash it off in the morning!). You can also use caladryl with calamine lotion. This is less effective than just using calamine lotion, but won’t have you walking around pink-faced all day and as such is suitable for daytime use.

The last of the natural cures for acne we’ll be talking about here is tea tree oil. If you have sensitive skin, however, dilute this with aloe vera, a mild astringent or water, 1 part tea tree oil to 19 parts of one of these. You can adjust this ratio until you find one which works best for your skin. Tea tree oil acts as an antibacterial agent, helping to keep your breakouts mild and farther between.

Adults can suffer from acne as much as teenagers. But what causes it? Normally its is caused by the oil glands starting to expand which leads to a build up of sebum on the surface of the skin. The hair follicles can become blocked by this excess sebum, as can the pores in the skin as well. The growth of bacteria can then occur which can spread around different areas of the skin resulting in an acne breakout. This breakout can often affect people in various different ways which also doesn’t help in learning what the exact causes of acne are.

Many possible causes of acne have been suggested which can cause imbalances in hormones. There are also other factors which can affect acne breakouts, for example foods, stress and lack of vitamins.

Statistics have shown that there is a link between the level of vitamin A in the body and the reduction of the amount of sebum and keratin being produced. Therefore you need to keep your bodys intake of vitamin A high as well as a well balanced diet. This can be done by consuming the recommended daily amount of fruit and vegetables which is five portions a day.

Something that is linked to the above information about vitamin A is zinc. Zinc helps with the effectiveness of vitamin A and therefore is great for healing and repair of acne damaged skin.

Also note that there are some over the counter creams and treatments available which can help with the control of your acne. Creams that contain sulphur are known to be very effective. Take advantage of advice available to you from your local chemist or Doctor, seek their advice on what cream could be best suited to your condition. Try to avoid any creams or other treatments that contain bromide and iodide because they can increase the inflamation and cause you more discomfort.

Please remember to double check with your Doctor or Medical advisor before trying any new creams or medications to make sure they are suitable to you and have no hidden side effects.

Something else that you should avoid in an attempt to reduce your acne are foods which are have a high content of refined sugar. Aside from your acne you should avoid products with fried oils or hydrogenated vegetable oils, although not proven to cause acne, it is better for your overall health to avoid these oils.

There are a range of herbal treatments for acne which can be very effective for your condition. Another benefit of these treatments is that the chance of suffering from side effects is small when compared to regular medical products. The effects of these may not be as instant as normal medical products but can be very effective over a longer time period. It has been demonstrated that tea tree oils can reduce acne due to the fact that they have antibacterial and antifungal properties. These properties can help the natural treatment of acne.

Acne Signs and Symptoms

Today acne is not only a skin problem that teenagers can get, but there are many adults who are now getting this skin condition as well. One of the main reasons is that their body is actually producing too much oil (sebum) and this then causes the pores on the skin to become blocked. Should someone suffer from this condition not only does it look unsightly, but also if left untreated can lead to more permanent damage (scarring) to their skin. Below we take a look at the main acne signs and symptoms that are associated with this particular skin condition.

In most cases acne normally appears on a person’s face, but it can also appear on their chest, neck, shoulders and back as well. These are all areas of their body where they have glands that can produce oil. When it does appear acne can take various different forms and below we describe what these are.

1. White heads and Black heads also known in medical terms as Comedones that are produced when the hair follicle openings become blocked with the oil and dead skin cells. Plus in some cases there may well be bacteria encased in these blocked openings also.

2. The next sign that a person may have acne is that spots have appeared on the skin’s surfaces, which are known as Papules. These will appear as small raised bumps on the skin’s surface and will be formed around the hair follicles. But unlike the Comedones these can become infected and inflamed and will often be red in color and are tender to touch.

3. Pustules are similar in shape and size to papules but along with being red and tender to touch they will contain a white area at the tip, which is made up of pus. It is this which if allowed to escape can cause the acne to occur else where on the body.

4. Next we move on to a form of acne, which is known as Nodules. These are much large and unsightly bumps compared to the other signs that you are suffering from acne. Along with being large they can be painful and are caused by a build up of secretions (including oil and dead skin cells) deep inside the hair follicles.

5. The final form of acne that some people may well suffer from and which is the worse of all the symptoms is the Cysts. These just like the Nodules are large and painful but contain large amounts of pus (containing bacteria) as well. If left untreated then these can cause further permanent damage (scarring) to that person’s skin.

If you choose to leave the acne untreated this can not only lead to further outbreaks, but may well also lead to more serious damage to your skin as well. If at any time you notice you are suffering from certain acne signs and symptoms then it is advisable to seek medical assistance as soon as you can. A doctor may well find that there is some other underlying cause for your problem and this will also need to be treated along with the acne.

You could apply this mixture on to your scars and keep it overnight. Immediately wash it with cold water the following day and if you find that your skin is drier, just leave it for a few hours or try washing your face with some milk. You may follow the procedure by rubbing ice on your face to tighten the pores and then applying cucumber juice to tighten it more. Lastly, you may cut some tomato and apply it to the skin, leaving it for ten to fifteen minutes to remove blackheads and make the pores smaller.

Natural Acne Spot Treatment Is Inexpensive and Effective

Acne is a problem that affects you not only physically but also mentally. Physically, it often causes pus filled pustules which are painful and difficult to get rid of. Mentally, it affects your self-esteem because the facial skin looks unaesthetic for which reason you would feel unattractive. The commercially promoted acne spot treatment in most cases is expensive and not guaranteed to give you the best results. So what should you do to fight this problem?

Fortunately, you always have Nature to appeal to in case of any health problems. For acne, there are plenty of very simple yet highly effective remedies that you could make and use at home without any extra help.

Oatmeal

One much acclaimed natural acne spot treatment is the oatmeal skin cleanser. Take a little oatmeal and add to it just enough rose water to make a thick paste. Spread this paste as a mask on your face or any other part of skin which has been affected by acne and let it dry for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse it off with cold water which would help closing the pores after the cleansing process. Apply this mask daily which will work as acne spot treatment as well as preventive method.

Honey

Another exceptional natural ingredient used as acne spot treatment is honey. This is especially well known for its anti-bacterial as well as cleansing properties. You would therefore kill two birds with one stone when you use honey, i.e. kill the acne causing bacteria and cleanse the pores of the skin preventing acne formation. You need to apply the honey in a thin film all over your face and keep it for about 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse off with cold water and pat dry.

Another way to use honey is in the cinnamon-honey paste in the ratio of 1:3. Take cinnamon powder mix it with honey and apply it to the spots you want treated. Leave it overnight and rinse in the morning with warm water. This would completely eliminate your acne and their spots leaving behind a flawless, radiant skin.

You would agree that the best acne spot treatment is its prevention. Mother Nature has just the right recipe for you on this aspect. Take a little groundnut oil add to it a little lime juice (ratio should be 1:1) and mix well after which you should apply it to your face. Keep this mask for about 10 to 15 minutes and then wash it away with warm water. Repeat this process daily and you will never suffer from any kind of acne of pimples ever again.
